Deep in the Heart of Texas
This month, Program Officer, Jessica Mead visited four UGRADers at University of the Incarnate Word and the University of Texas at Austin. Located in San Antonio, Texas, the University of the Incarnate Word is a Hispanic Serving Institution, one of the top liberal arts universities in the Southwest, and a new UGRAD host! In addition to observing classes, touring the campus and meeting with the staff in the International Student Office, Jessica went to Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras celebrations with Jimmy Alvarado and Nester Mendoza.
Jessica also made a short visit to the University of Texas at Austin, one of the original eight Public Ivy institutions and our largest UGRAD host institution with over 38,000 undergraduate students. Vukasin Miljkovic and Sivmey Hok are enrolled at the College of Liberal Arts and are taking advantage of the different opportunities on campus and in the city of Austin.
