World Learning is excited to welcome the Spring 2023 Global UGRAD cohort to the United States! As the second half of the 2022-2023 Global UGRAD Program year cohort, 159 new participants began arriving just after the start of the new year. Global UGRAD participants not only demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to service but also come from a variety of backgrounds, representing 61 countries. Each participant will attend one of 80 host universities and colleges for a semester, where they will engage in academic studies, community service activities, and cross-cultural exchanges.

A week after departing Uzbekistan and touching down in her new home for the next five months, Kansas State University, Maftuna Uraimshikova shared her thoughts with the World Learning team. “As I became familiar with the facilities and opportunities they offer, I felt Manhattan, Kansas is a world in a city! People in my dorm are so friendly and open to helping me at any time. When I forgot my keys in my room at midnight, they came in no time!” The KSU International Students Office held several events and orientations that allowed international students, and even their families, to connect with local people and make a lot of new friends!”
