Winter Break Tales

Of the 252 2016-17 Global UGRAD students, 33 remained in the United States over the winter holiday break at their host universities. Some stayed on campus and took the opportunity to volunteer in their host communities. For others, the break was an opportunity to travel to other cities and to visit family and/or friends not on campus.

Here is a snapshot of three Global UGRAD students’ holiday adventures:

Chai Saelee, Thailand, Juniata College

Chai visited family in Alaska during his time off from school. They took the opportunity to hike around Anchorage!

Mehroj Muhiddinov, Tajikistan, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities

Mehroj spent his break in Florida. A welcome dose of sunshine as winter approaches in Minnesota!

Fredy Gomez, Panama, Troy University

Fredy enjoyed a road trip with several friends that began in his host state of Alabama and ended in New York City. As a

bonus, he was able to stop by the World Learning office in Washington, DC to say hello!
