The Global UGRAD team hosted an unforgettable End of Program Workshop from November 16-19th in Washington, D.C. for all fall academic semester participants. The workshop included professional development workshops on themes like personal branding, advocacy, inclusion, and public speaking.
This was the first time the 122 participants had the chance to meet their Global UGRAD peers from all over the world, sharing their stories, experiences, and aspirations during activities like: the opening night dinner reception; Washington, DC monument tour; staff-led team building and culture shock sessions; and learning about life as an alum of a State Department exchange program through a presentation from ECA’s Alumni Outreach Specialist, Phoenix Ricks.
The participants also had the opportunity to interact with U.S. Department of State Desk Officers during a networking luncheon and explored their leadership potential with World Learning’s Senior Director of Youth Programs, Si Norton. The workshop culminated with a showcase of talent during Open Mic Night, where participants shared more about their home countries and presented incredible stories and experiences they had on the program.
