U.S. Department of State Program Officer Visits Global UGRAD!

KareneIn the past month, Karene Grad Steiner, the  U.S. Department of State Program Officer responsible for overseeing the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program, visited Global UGRAD students at two host institutions. Karene journeyed to Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan and the University of Memphis in Tennessee. Saginaw Valley is home to five Global UGRAD students from Kenya, China, Egypt, Nicaragua, and Uzbekistan who are taking English Language Training courses this semester. At the University of Memphis, Karene visited three students from Haiti, Egypt, and Turkmenistan.  All students report that her visit was a unique opportunity to meet someone from the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC and learn more about the generosity of the people of the United States in supporting this initiative.
