Online Professional and Academic Learning Course (OPAL)
The UGRAD team is pleased to announce the launch of our Online Professional and Academic Learning (OPAL) course on September 14th, 2015. OPAL was crafted by the UGRAD team to help participants build and develop the skills necessary for their future academic and professional careers. OPAL consists of eight interactive modules that will be taught over the course of eight weeks during the fall semester.
Module themes vary from Leadership Development and Goal Setting to course work on Resume Building and Academic Writing. The brief modules will provide all UGRAD students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills that they can use in the classroom, during their community service projects while on the program, and in their future academic and professional endeavors.
Each unit is specifically designed to provide students with interactive activities as well as written, video, and/or visual aids that will provide details about the specific theme and how to best incorporate it into the student’s academic and professional skills repertoire. For students who are unable to access the OPAL course in the fall, the UGRAD team will also offer the course during the spring 2016 semester.
