This June, UGRAD alum Sonia Zavaleta Mancia – an avid triathlete – represented El Salvador in a prestigious cycling competition called “Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica” (Bike Tour of Costa Rica). Sonita competed with professional and olympic athletes alike, including the Pan-American cycling champion! In her words, it was “an honor to once again represent El Salvador in the sporting realm, as well as to represent my university and the community of U.S. Department of State Alumni.”
Beginning in fall 2015, Sonia will begin an Erasmus Mundus program in Denmark to get a masters degree in International Relations and Global Order. Congratulations on your successes, Sonia!
