Kyane, a team member of the Young Tunisian Coders Academy (YCTA) had this to say: “It is such a honor to be the recipient of the AEIF grant. But it is also a responsibility: the responsibility of giving back to the community. As alumni of the Department of State’s programs, all the members of YTCA have learned so much from their American experience. Now it’s time to bring back our freshly squeezed learning to Tunisia and make a positive impact in our communities.” One of Kyane’s teammates described their project by saying: “In a world dominated by technology, kids are growing up surrounded by hundreds of electronic devices that they interact with in their everyday lives. We, the Young Tunisian Coders Academy team, are well aware of this fact and as a consequence, have pooled our efforts together in order to make kids take advantage of that surrounding technology. Our team member Achraf, a NESA UGRAD participant, is leading the project.”
