Serbia and Montenegro UGRADers Meet at Mid-Year

The Mid-Year Workshop in Washington, DC brought together 47 Global UGRAD students from Serbia and Montenegro. This three-day conference focused on students’ academic, professional, and leadership skills with an emphasis on networking, teambuilding, and action planning.

During the workshop, the students visited a number of international and U.S. organizations working in their respective fields of study – the U.S. Department of State, the International Monetary Fund, National Geographic, the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, NPR, Synetic Theater, the Hirshhorn Museum, Gensler, and the Kennedy Center. Participants shared their ideas about leadership, discussed the value of civic engagement, and practiced effective communication skills. The workshop concluded with an intense last day packed with action planning and skill building sessions, after which participants visited the U.S. Capitol and Smithsonian museums on the National Mall.
