Each academic semester, it is always an exciting time when we welcome Global UGRAD participants to Washington, DC for our End of Program Summit (for social media fans, #EoPinDC). Earlier this month, from March 31st-April 4th, 134 students from over 50 countries attending 40 different universities around the U.S. converged on our nation’s capital for four unforgettable days of learning. They came together across international, disciplinary, and academic boundaries to sharpen their leadership capabilities, expand their professional skills, brainstorm strategies to cope with reverse culture shock, more deeply understand inclusion and diversity, and learn how to become active and engaged alumni of the U.S. Department of State.
This is the first time World Learning staff are able to meet participants in person, and the last opportunity to do so before final exams and the end of the term. It is always inspirational to engage in-person with these outstanding young leaders, but particularly as they prepare to transition home and begin the next phase of their journey as Global UGRAD alumni. Throughout our few days together, we were inspired by this cohort’s maturity, focus, and enthusiasm during each one of our sessions. We can’t wait to see where the journey will lead them next!
