Alumni Update: My Life After Global UGRAD

I chose this photo (me attending my girlfriend’s graduation) as it captured the moment of happiness spent with one of my loved ones. A truly happy life, I believe, is reflected from us cherishing each moment spent with our loved ones. That is my goal; to live a purposeful life alongside loving and caring for my friends and family.

The time that I spent on an exchange in the United States of America was a memorable and eye-opening experience. My time abroad had definitely shaped my outlook and perspective significantly, not mentioning the tremendous boost in my self-esteem. Nevertheless, as the saying goes, “Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present.” Occasionally, despite trying my utmost best to focus on the present and future, I do reminisce about the wonderful times that I had abroad in the States.

After returning to Malaysia from my exchange, I resumed my studies in pursuance of a degree in Mechatronics Engineering in the Science University of Malaysia. At the time of this writing, I am working on my final year project which is cervical precancerous cell image processing. To put it simply, this project aims to ease the job of cytologist inspecting the cervical cells. This final year project has increased my awareness of cervical cancer among women and how easy it is to misdiagnose it while it is still in its precancerous state.

Apart from that, I am currently working on an online affiliate marketing website in hope of creating some passive income to relieve my education financial burden. The search engine platform that I will be using is the world’s leading search engine, Google. I came to foresee the future of Malaysia during my exchange in the States and it has undoubtedly ignited my entrepreneurial spirit to connect a demand with its respective supply via the Internet.

My basic economics class, which I took back in the States, has helped me a lot in understanding the political economics of both the world and my country. Since then, I have bought and read numerous books about economics, finance, and corporate fundamentals. I aim to share my knowledge with others by means of creating my own blog as well as a book rental service for my fellow campus mate to give them a chance to understand how the mechanisms of economic principles works globally.

In conclusion, despite the busy schedule that I am facing, I am grateful that I am living a purposeful and goal-driven life. In other words, “Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying.”
