From Where I Stand: November 2020 Edition

Roshni Nagrani Lalwani, Panama, Carroll College, Global UGRAD 2016-17

Before getting into UGRAD, back then I was just a student focused on grades and studies with no thought of participating in extracurricular activities. Since the completion of UGRAD, I realized how important is to participate into activities that are organized at the university. With this mindset, in 2017 I was offered to organize the XXIV Congress of Industrial Engineering of Technological University of Panama as an Academic Coordinator which involved in organizing conferences, educational tours to companies and courses at the university. Additionally, I had a team to guide and lead in order to reach our goals as a team.

As soon as this great event ended, I was offered in 2018 an opportunity to travel to Japan for a short internship to learn about Vertical Farming which later I used what learned to prepare my graduate thesis. Finally, today I find myself working at Novo Nordisk as Patient Access and Commercial Excellence Intern where I am actively proving support into different project such as Medical Samples Program, Patient Support Program and Trade Agreements.

Thanks to UGRAD, I have become a totally different person that is always looking to do more than the ordinary!

Vladyslav Shapoval, Ukarine, University of Houston-Victoria, Global UGRAD 2018-19

After my coming back to Ukraine, I have realized my true passion, which is Communication. In the United States, I took classes in the Communication field and I enjoyed them a lot. So now I am trying myself in teaching people of the importance of it by being a trainer of the developed training in the Fundamentals of Public Speaking. Also, I have applied my project, which is named “Academy of Communication,” for the municipality funding, and my project was selected. I am going to teach people how to give well-prepared speeches to the public. I am so excited about this. I am so grateful for the experience in the US which helped me to realize what I really liked!
