Jessica Wilkinson is a new World Learning intern with the Global UGRAD team. A dual citizen of Brazil and the U.S. she learned to speak Portuguese and developed an appreciation of international affairs living in Brazil for 15 years and studying at the American School of Brasilia. After moving to the United States, she attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received a dual bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Political Science. Upon graduation, Jessica worked as the Administrative Assistant in the university’s Office of Intercultural Outreach Programs. For three years, she helped design and implement short-term exchange programs for groups of international students and professionals.
In 2011, to gain international work experience, she moved to Daegu, South Korea to become an English instructor. For one year, she taught beginner and intermediate English to elementary and middle school students at an after-school academy. Jessica is interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in international education in the future. She enjoys interacting with students from all over the world and working on programs designed to create enriching cultural and academic experiences in the US. Welcome Jessica!
